McInally Plant, Plant Hire
"It was a huge improvement on the bid we'd submitted previously ourselves. The Procurement and Commissioning Unit said an exceptional job had been done on our bid."
Bonnybridge-based McInally Plant know the importance of professional service, the best tools for the job and a highly qualified workforce. It’s why their clients rate them so highly and they were quick to recognise and acknowledge those qualities in Intend Business Development Ltd.
Finance Manager Martin Blair says the support the company received from Intend’s Owen Paterson even helped boost local jobs.
“Intend came to us through Business Gateway, which allocated us a grant of three days with Intend. We had previously won a tender from Falkirk Council on our own, but we realised when the next tender came up that we would need help in submitting it. Owen worked with us and we were struck by his professionalism and commitment. Even when the tender came through, he stayed involved.
“It was a really worthwhile process. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Intend again. Whereas we would view the contract from our knowledge of the company - we know who we are and the kind of job we do - Owen explained that we had to tell our story in more detail. It is good to have that different perspective and he tailored our response much more closely to what the council required.
“Owen really enhanced the quality of our bid. That was commented on in the feedback we received from the council’s Procurement and Commissioning Unit. Falkirk tender bids get scored and we could see, from the feedback that we got on the one that Owen helped us with, that it was a huge improvement on the bid we’d submitted previously ourselves. The Procurement and Commissioning Unit actually said an exceptional job had been done on our bid.
“We won’t forget what he did. We won a four- year contract thanks to Intend. It is important for us and for the community too. It created employment.”
